About Lysosomal Disease

Lysosomal diseases are rare genetic disorders caused by deficiencies in enzymes or proteins that function within the lysosome. These conditions affect multiple tissues in the body and often lead to progressive health complications.

More than 70 lysosomal diseases have been identified. While treatments are available for some conditions, many still lack effective therapies. Continued research and education are essential to improving the health and quality of life of patients living with these diseases.
